Join the fun and learn a thing or two at the 4th annual Tri-Cities ASME Egg Drop Event on Saturday, March 6th from 1-3 pm at Kingsport Town Center. Organized by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Holston Section the event is designed to promote engineering and science in the Tri-Cities community, the Egg Drop is also an excellent opportunity to encourage students to consider math, science, and other technical fields or disciplines as career options. Participants are asked to protect an egg from a second story drop to keep it from SMASHING when it hits the ground. Accuracy of the drop, minimizing the weight of the protective device, and minimizing the number of components in the protective device are all factors in determining who wins. All ages, including adults are encouraged to participate. You can compete as an individual or as a team from your school, family, church or other group. Winners receive awards, certificates, gift certificates goody bags and cash prizes.
